From time to time in this space, Balboa Press publishes articles written by our authors in which they share some aspect of their self-publishing journeys. These are the words of Jenny Edwards, author of “The Great Provider“. You can find out more about Jenny and her book on her website and Facebook page. I lay claim to many things in my life, but being associated with Balboa Press in the publication of my book The Great Provider is way up there with some of the most amazing things I have achieved in my life. Raising four sons alone and emigrating to Western Australia with them is one of my most memorable times.
In an aim for peace and balance in life I accepted a job in a crystal shop called “Angel Wings” situated in a small fishing village in Cornwall, England. Anyone having been to Cornwall will have observed the magical power that exists, and envelopes visitors and residents alike. As an artist, I also appreciated the pure light that exists in Cornwall.
Being a prolific writer of anything that pleases me, I began writing about the many virtues of natural crystals. Mary, the owner of the shop and my employer taught me the “truth” and the “secret” of living with crystals in my own life and home.
My book The Great Provider is a memoir of mainly my father, who was a strong, capable, caring man with principles. When writing and editing my book, with the immense help and guidance from the Balboa Press crew, on all levels, I needed my crystals to clear stress of an imagined deadline, and also writers block, which many writers experienced.
Crystals are associated with perfection, transparency and clarity. Crystals are all around us. We live on a crystal planet in a crystal world. Hematite if left on a windowsill will attract light and dispel negative energy. Amethyst & rose quartz placed in the area where you write can give an uplifting effect and give harmony as it generates healing and love.
My house has a variety of crystals and visitors always comment on the uplifting aura of my home. Try it, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Love & light to all who read this blog.
